Happy Monday! I don’t know about you, but I am dragging this morning. It’s always so hard to jump back into a routine again after a few days off. And my poor Emily was so tired this morning; I think it took me ten minutes just to convince her she really, truly needed to get out of bed and go to school this morning!
Even with Thanksgiving (or maybe because of it?) I had several good, quality workouts this past week. Here’s the short summary:
M – 5 miles (avg. 8:20)
T – kickboxing class
W – 30 minute boot camp class + 4 mile easy run
Th – 10K Turkey Trot (I made my own course and was the only runner!)
F – Off
Sa – kickboxing class
Su – 4 miles (avg. 8:06)
Part of me loves that my marathon training season has ended, that I now have the freedom to run when I want, how fast I want, etc. But I also miss the routine, and the challenge that came with a specific training plan and end goal. Now I feel a little lost in my running. I know it’s good to have peaks and valleys, periods where we push and back off, but I think I need to find a few winter and spring races to start aiming for!
We put up our tree and hung our stockings this weekend too. The girls were SO excited to hang ornaments on the tree this year, and were actually helpful in the decorating process! Our tree has way more ornaments on the bottom third than anywhere else, but they had fun. 🙂
I hope your December is off to a great start! Have you started decorating yet?
